Joe is a leader.

He has stepped forward as a leader in many local community organisations like the Greenslopes State School P&C, Victor Scouts and Coorparoo School of Arts.

Since being elected Joe has lead local initiatives to:

• Strengthen community groups, sporting clubs, P&Cs and P&Fs
• Prevent domestic violence
• Create healthier communities
• Build Reconciliation
• Empower Young People
• Connect Small Businesses and Community Groups
• Establish Community Celebrations
• Preserve historical buildings
• Celebrate nurses and midwives
• Build relations between Queensland and Latin America

In Parliament Joe has lead several Parliamentary Committees including Agriculture, Ethics and the Mental Health Select Committee. Joe was elected Deputy Speaker of the Queensland Parliament.
