Survey says…Eastern Transitway
Progress is continuing on the congestion-busting Eastern Transitway with survey works underway on Old Cleveland Road.
Member for Bulimba Di Farmer said the survey investigations would inform the Eastern Transitway’s preliminary design.
“The $22 million Eastern Transitway will deliver bus priority improvements between Main Avenue, Coorparoo and Creek Road, Carindale,” Ms Farmer said.
“The Palaszczuk Government is committed to public transport and this is yet another congestion-busting project to directly benefit commuters to arrive at their destinations quicker.”
Member for Greenslopes Joe Kelly said the Eastern Transitway would improve bus service reliability and travel times in peak periods.
“This will also assist in managing congestion along the corridor,” Mr Kelly said.
“We will work closely with Brisbane City Council to manage the impacts on the council road network too.
“Transport and Main Roads is expected to release a concept design for community feedback next year.”
Survey works were expected to be completed early 2019.
