Free TAFE Forum
Member for Greenslopes Joe Kelly MP will be hosting a community forum with State Member for Bulimba Di Farmer and Federal Member for Griffith Terri Butler to discuss the Palaszczuk Government’s Free TAFE initiative.
The initiative will offer 2018 school leavers the opportunity to take up free training in the year after they leave school. Mr. Kelly believes this is a great opportunity for school leavers to follow a path in any number of careers
“School leavers can kick-start their careers by learning skills employers want, without the financial burden of student contribution fees” Mr. Kelly said.
“Parents and students should go online to the free website where you can see the courses and qualifications that are included in this fantastic initiative”.
“Certificate III in industries such as engineering, early childhood, aged care and electro technology are on offer through the program” Mr Kelly.
“The Palaszczuk Government is committed to investing in our young people to ensure they have the training needed to gain employment and build a career”.
“That’s why we’re investing in initiatives like free TAFE to ensure we have the skilled workers we need to fill the jobs for the future Mr. Kelly.
“This fantastic initiative supports a variety of career opportunities and plays a vital role in growing our economy through our recent school leavers.”
The forum will take place at Whites Hill State College on Saturday 27th of October at 2:30pm.
