Fitness industry turning to digital to grow

Member for Greenslopes Joe Kelly MP will spend Small Business Week visiting the increasing number of gyms, fitness and wellbeing businesses in the electorate and discussing with their owners and managers the assistance they can receive from the Palaszczuk Government to grow their businesses.

The Fitness and Wellbeing industry is one of the fastest growing industries in the state, with now over 30 gyms, personal training, nutrition, martial arts and yoga businesses operating in the Greenslopes electorate and is increasingly looking online to bring clients in.

These businesses play a vital part in keeping people healthy and they help to increase local jobs. “As a nurse I support any efforts to improve heath and I will always work hard to support businesses that grow jobs for local people” said Mr Kelly.

Mr Kelly wants to ensure that local businesses know that the Palaszczuk Government has grant programs and policies to enable fledgling businesses grow and market their product locally online.

“Each small business has a story filled with passion and hard work, and their businesses are the heart and soul of our communities, which is why as a government we are offering more than $1 million in digital grants to market themselves online and operate on the online business market,” Mr. Kelly said.

“These grants are by far our most popular amongst small businesses, and the Palaszczuk Government has already supported over 1,100 small businesses with almost $6 million in digital grants.”

“And this latest round will offer grants of up to $10,000 to help business owners to work smarter and make the most of the online business market.”

Greenslopes has a strong history of local business and so too has the Palaszczuk Government of supporting them, state-wide, delivering over $1million to 220 Queensland small businesses in the last round of digital grants.

Since 2016 with the start of the Advancing Small Business Queensland Strategy there has been over $116,000 in digital grants received by businesses locally, while state-wide, the Palaszczuk Government has delivered over $1million to 220 Queensland small businesses in the last round of digital grants.
