Building Community through Volunteering

Member for Greenslopes, Joe Kelly will host a morning tea to recognise the invaluable work of volunteers in his community.

“Our community is built on the work of so many volunteers,” Mr Kelly said.

“This year’s theme, ‘making a world of difference,’ is a great as it really captures exactly what volunteers do within the community,” Mr. Kelly said.

“Volunteers work, whatever it is, is vital as it often fills the gaps in services and support that our society overlooks and also adds to the work already there, building our community and making it resilient.”

National Volunteers Week runs 20 -26 of May and is celebrating its 30th year.

Mr. Kelly’s volunteer recognition morning tea will be held on the 26th of May, 10am at the Coorparoo School of Arts.
